Writing assignment 2

In this photo i see a young women, she is wearing a rather thin almost transparent dress as she wades through the water. It looks as though she is trying to get to someone or something and you can see the effort she is putting in by the movement of her arms.

For some reason this photo reminded me of Jeff Buckley's death. I remember reading of his death a while after it happened and feeling sadness for the loss of what i considered to be a great lyricist. This photo describes almost to a tee the prelude to Buckley's death and therefore makes me feel sad and appreciation for his music. This also going along with Buckley reminds me of his song 'hallelujah'.

'On the evening of May 29, 1997, Buckley's band arrived by plane with the intent to join him in his Memphis studio to work on the newly written material. That same evening, Buckley went swimming in Wolf River Harbor,^[92] a tributary of the Mississippi River, while wearing boots, all of his clothing, and singing the chorus of the song "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin.^[93] A roadie of Buckley's band, Keith Foti, remained ashore. After moving the radio and a guitar out of reach of the wake from a passing tugboat, Foti looked up to see that Buckley was gone. My 3 photos that i like

This photo was taken by mark jenkins. He is an artist who sculpts himself and then takes photos of of his art on the street. This picture struck me because i thought it was somewhat comical and shocking to those passing by. I wall also struck by how real it looked as most of his positions are those one would typically see the homeless in.


This photo was taken by Englund in South Africa and i liked it because of its obvious comical value and also its showcasing of the influence of the american culture on south Africa through the shirt.


This is a photo of bob marley playing soccer int he recording studio. I am unaware as to who took the photo but i do ahve a quoten that goes along side it, “Football is freedom, a whole universe. Me love it because you have to be skillful to play it.” This quote and photo and quote both show the freedom that i belive is associated with the sport and it also the universalness of the sport as it is seen being played by me and pop culture icons alike.
